01 · Who we help

For businesses that have outgrown the way things evolved.

Our clients are typically established businesses, often with years of operating history behind them. They have good people, functioning systems and processes that have got them this far. But growth, new services, changing customer expectations, regulation, acquisitions or years of incremental technology decisions have created complexity. Information lives in too many places. Teams have built their own ways of working. Key knowledge sits with individuals. The business can feel the friction, but it is not always obvious where to start.

02 · Why this gap exists

The problem often sits between roles.

Most established SMEs do not need a full-time enterprise architect, transformation team, business architect and change function. But at certain points they need that joined-up thinking. Internal teams know their areas. Technology providers know their products. Implementation partners know what they are there to implement. What can be missing is someone looking across the business as a whole, connecting the operational reality with the technology decisions and helping the business work out what actually needs to change.

03 · Why In Place

Built for the space between business and technology.

In Place exists to provide that independent, cross-business perspective when it is needed, without requiring the business to build a permanent internal function around it. We are useful when the issue crosses processes, systems, data, people and ownership, or when a business needs to make a technology decision without starting from a vendor or product. The aim is clarity, practical direction and enough capability transferred into the business that it can keep moving without becoming dependent on us.

04 · The experience behind it

Experience from both inside businesses and alongside them.

In Place Solutions was founded by Laura French after more than 15 years working across business systems, technology, process improvement, transformation and change. That experience has been built both inside organisations and alongside clients across financial services, lending, nationwide retail, property and valuation services, ecommerce, construction, accommodation and professional services. Working across business analysis, systems and IT ownership, project and change management, solution design, integrations, digital delivery, reporting and governance has shaped a practical view of change: understand the business around the technology, not just the technology itself.
